Talk about the project
The name
The name “Le Cri des Locataires” reflects both the urgency and the need to be heard in the face of injustices in the Brussels rental market. It symbolizes the collective voice of tenants—often made invisible—who demand decent housing conditions. Through our website, we aim to amplify these voices by providing tools to take action and defend tenants’ rights. It is a call for mobilisation and solidarity for fairer and more accessible housing.

The colors
Readability and Inclusivity
The choice of a minimalist yellow and black color palette, supported by white, follows the same guiding principle: offering clear and accessible reading while avoiding visual overload. By limiting the palette to one strong color accompanied by neutral tones, we ensure a smooth hierarchy of information and better accessibility for all. The strong contrast between yellow and black enhances readability, especially in our media content.
Moreover, this color choice is a symbolic reappropriation: often associated with movements and narratives that oppose our values, the yellow-black combination is here repurposed to carry a message of social justice and commitment to the right to housing.
Powerful and Raw Visuals
A powerful and raw visual
The bright, almost fluorescent yellow stands out as a striking and impactful color. It reflects the harshness and brutality of the housing crisis in Brussels while asserting a strong presence in public and media spaces. Through large yellow blocks, combined with black and white, we build a bold visual identity that draws attention and emphasizes the importance of the issue.

The fonts
To ensure a visual identity that is both striking and readable, we chose three complementary typefaces.
Bebas Neue Pro Bold and Bebas Neue Pro Regular are used for titles and subtitles.
Open Sans is preferred for body text.
Its familiar and balanced design ensures smooth and accessible reading, in line with our commitment to clarity and inclusiveness.
All of these typographic choices contribute to a strong, readable, and accessible visual communication.
