My rights against pests
In principle, if the infestation is not caused by the tenant’s behaviour (such as poor hygiene, unmanaged waste, etc.), the landlord is responsible for :
Insects (cockroaches, bedbugs, beetles, ants, etc.)

Rodents (rats, mice, dormice, martens, etc.)
Unwanted birds (pigeons, birds nesting inside the building, etc.)
Fungi and molds (particularly related to humidity problems)
The presence of pests
- Puts residents’ health at risk (allergies, illness, stress, etc.)
- Damages the living environment and peace of mind
- Is a violation of housing health standards, which can legally be recognized as a serious failure on the part of the landlord
