Rehousing allowance
By Bruxelles-Capitale’s rehousing unit.
The rehousing allowance is a financial aid for low-income tenants. It is aimed at people who are changing accommodation because it is unfit for habitation or unsuitable (for household size, people with reduced mobility, the elderly). It is also aimed at people emerging from certain situations of homelessness.
The assistance is divided into two parts: moving assistance and rent assistance.
There are several conditions to qualify:
- The dwelling is inadequate (non-compliant in terms of safety, hygiene or basic amenities, or in other defined cases).
- You have been renting the property for at least one year without interruption.
- The property is located in the Brussels-Capital Region
